VMware Explore 2027 Moves to Resorts World Las Vegas

VMware Explore is getting a new date and a new home in 2027. The conference returns to Las Vegas from May 3–6, 2027, moving to Resorts World Las Vegas and shifting from its familiar late-summer schedule to the spring.

VMware announced the change during Explore 2026 and provided additional planning details in the official Save the Date announcement. The technical focus remains centered on private cloud, security, application modernization, innovation, and direct access to the people building VMware Cloud Foundation and private AI capabilities.

New spring dates for VMware Explore 2027

The move to May is more than a calendar adjustment. Holding the event earlier in the year gives attendees approximately seven months to apply what they learn before year-end. For infrastructure and platform teams, that creates more time to evaluate new capabilities, run proof-of-concept projects, update architecture plans, and incorporate the event’s technical guidance into annual roadmaps.

Spring also avoids the extreme heat that often comes with an August conference in Las Vegas. The new schedule keeps late summer open for family travel, vacations, and back-to-school planning while giving teams an earlier opportunity to connect with product experts and peers.

Resorts World becomes the new venue

VMware Explore 2027 will move from the Venetian Convention and Expo Center to Resorts World Las Vegas. VMware describes the new location as a more focused event footprint with shorter travel times between hotel rooms, session spaces, and networking areas.

The organizer highlights Resorts World’s Vegas Loop access for travel between Las Vegas properties. Check the operator’s current routes and service details when planning transportation.

The technical experience remains familiar

Although the dates and venue are changing, the core VMware Explore experience is expected to remain intact. The 2027 event is planned to include:

  • Practitioner-focused technical sessions covering cloud infrastructure, security, application modernization, and innovation.
  • VMware Hands-on Labs with self-paced and guided environments for testing private-cloud technologies.
  • Onsite certification exams that give attendees a way to validate their skills during the conference.
  • Direct expert access to VMware Cloud Foundation and private AI architects, engineers, and product specialists.

That continuity is important. Explore is most valuable when product strategy is paired with technical depth: demonstrations, labs, expert conversations, and the candid community discussions that help administrators understand how new capabilities behave in real environments.

Important VMware Explore 2027 dates

VMware has already published several milestones for attendees, speakers, and teams planning their 2027 budgets:

  • September 30, 2026: pre-registration discount deadline — now closed.
  • November 3, 2026: Call for Proposals opens.
  • January 12, 2027: official registration opens.
  • May 3–6, 2027: VMware Explore 2027 at Resorts World Las Vegas.

The early Call for Proposals date gives practitioners and customers time to prepare session ideas based on real deployments, operational lessons, automation projects, and private-cloud outcomes. Those field experiences are often among the most useful sessions at Explore because they connect product capabilities with implementation reality.

Pre-registration discount is now closed

Updated October 1, 2026: The pre-registration discount closed on September 30, 2026. The organizer’s announcement now marks it closed. Official registration is scheduled to open on January 12, 2027.

Check the official Explore 2027 announcement for registration updates and offer terms. The earlier pre-registration savings are no longer an active offer for new sign-ups.

Planning ahead for Explore 2027

For teams that use VMware Cloud Foundation, the earlier event date may fit better into annual planning and project execution. Technical takeaways gathered in May can inform second-half lab work, platform upgrades, automation priorities, certification goals, and budget discussions while there is still meaningful time left in the year.

The venue and timing are changing, but the reason many practitioners attend remains the same: concentrated access to technical content, hands-on learning, product experts, partners, and a community working through similar infrastructure challenges.
