IP Subnetting

Now that the hardware and networking has been decided for my environment, it is time to figure out the IP subnetting that I will be using for VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and the various other components that I want to run in my lab.

Everyone has their own opinion about how they want to subnet their environment so it will really be up to you on how you would like to set it up. Since I plan on running VCF on physical and nested hosts I am going to keep the segments relatively the same but just have them on separate class B subnets. I am also going to keep my networking side on a separate subnet so that my Ubiquiti and NSX pieces are on the same class B subnet. Some might consider this overkill for a lab but this is what I think works the best for me.

Here is what I am going to configure:
Class B subnet for Networking
Class B subnet for Nested
Class B subnet for Physical

I am going to create separate posts for to discuss in further detail what I am creating on these subnets. It will be based off the requirements for VCF along with how I like to have separation between the various components.
